Headlines

European Tour Announced!
Following the recent release of Here's The Tender Coming in the rest of Europe on Rough Trade, The Unthanks play a major 6 week European tour in the Spring. Starting on the Isle of Man, the tour goes to Belfast, Cork, Galway and Dublin in March, before crossing the North Sea to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.

Jonny and Lucy Launch Dates
For those of you who loved our Autumn tour support act (and you were plentiful.. they out-sold us on CD sales every single night!!) Jonny Kearney & Lucy Farrell officially release debut mini-album The North Farm Sessions on Feb 8th (recorded at Rachel and Adrian's Northumberland home, featuring backing vocals from them both and produced by Adrian), and have home and away launch shows in Newcastle and London in February.

Radio 3 Session on Saturday
The Unthanks have recorded a Maida Vale Studios session for BBC3's World Routes programme, to be broadcast at 3pm on Saturday 23rd January. The Unthanks have recorded 4 tracks, which includes a previously unrecorded version of Felton Lonnin from The Bairns, reimagined for the new extended band line-up. Rachel, Becky and Adrian will also be in conversation with presenter Lucy Duran.

Rachel goes to Ethiopia!
Rachel Unthank goes to Ethiopia in February, invited by Damon Albarn to go on his African Express project, exploring traditional music and encouraging links between Western and African musicians. Rachel is very excited about the opportunity to learn and explore, and will be traveling with musicians include Damon and Joan As Policeman.

Beggars Opera Gig on Monday
On Monday 26th January at The Roundhouse, London, Rachel and Becky Unthank perform in a reimagined take on The Beggars Opera, featuring conductor Charles Hazlewood and Adrian Utley from Portishead.

Summer Dates Announced
The Unthanks will shortly announce a number of UK festival appearances, proceeded by a small number of dates in key cities for late May/early June. We also hope to announce an American/Canadian tour for early July!
