UK Tour, Festivals, SXSW and more European dates Announced
The Unthanks announce a long string of dates for the rest of this year, starting at SXSW in Austin Texas, and including a May/June UK tour, additions to the European tour in Austria, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, and summer festivals including Green Man, End of the Road, Cambridge Folk Festival and Glastonbury.
These new announced join the forthcoming dates already on sale in Ireland, the Isle of Man and mainland Europe. Many more shows and these on sale now, see the tour page. Another major festival appearance will be announced in a couple of weeks!
The Unthanks at Homegame
The Unthanks have been announced as special guests at the Fence Collective's festival Homegame on March 13th in Anstruther, Fife. The Unthanks play on Saturday night. The festival is sold out but more info is available here. www.fencerecords.com/gigs/homegame-2010/

Radio 1 Session The Best
The Unthanks have just recorded a Maida Vale session for BBC Radio 1's Rob De Bank, broadcast March 13th. The band think it is the best session we've ever recorded. It will be broadcast on March 13th.
Theatre Soundtrack
The Unthanks have been asked to create the music for a theatre production at Newcastle's Live Theatre. Entitled A Northern Odyssey by Tynemouth-born Shelagh Stevenson, the play is set in 1880's Cullercoats and runs at the Live Theatre in April. The Live Theatre was also the venue for the debut record launch on Sunday of our Autumn 2009 support act Jonny Kearney & Lucy Farrell. The show sold out and a great time was had by all.
